Synchronization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011747

The condition in a chemical reaction where changes in bond lengths and angles occur simultaneously or in a highly coordinated fashion. This concept is particularly relevant in concerted reactions where multiple bond-making and bond-breaking events happen within a single elementary step. The degree of synchronization can be quantified by analyzing the transition state structure.
