Granular carbon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013135
A carbon material made up of separate, monolithic grains averaging more than about 100 micrometres across and under about 1 cm, also called coarse particulate carbon. Ground coke grains above roughly 100 micrometres are an example, and granular activated carbon falls in the same size class, though only the activated type is porous enough for adsorption. Finer grains count as fine particulate carbon.
