Clover disease

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002141

A reproductive disorder in livestock, particularly sheep, caused by the ingestion of phytoestrogens found in certain clover species. These plant compounds mimic the effects of estrogen, leading to infertility, dystocia, and uterine prolapse. The condition is prevalent in regions where subterranean clover is a dominant pasture plant.
